Electrolysis Under Local Anaesthetic

Electrolysis is the only proven method of permanent* hair removal. There is client variation and no individual guarantees can be given. Electrolysis involves passing an electric current into the hair shaft to stunt future growth. In its standard form it is an uncomfortable treatment however our electrolygist uses local anaesthetic injections similar to those used at the dentist as well as surface anaesthesia to numb the skin Local anaesthetic injections instantly numb the required area with brief discomfort at the time of injection.

Unique to this clinic:

Local anaesthetic injections instantly numb the required area with minimal discomfort at the time of injection.

The anaesthetic lasts 1 to 3 hours. With sequential injections sessions up to 6 hours are possible.

It is suitable for all hair types / skin colours and can be used on any area of the body.

Treatment Period

The number of hours required to treat an area depends on the following:

- Male/female - hormone status
- Density of hair growth
- The site being treated
- Individual response
- Client compliance
- Treatment interval

Compared to standard electrolysis, as client comfort is greatly enhanced this leads to faster electrolysis as there are fewer recovery pauses. Total treatment time is therefore shorter, thus maximising cost effectiveness.

*Considered permanent by the British Institute and Association of Electrolysis but individual results cannot be guaranteed and the FDA

It is impossible to know in advance how many hours of treatment will be needed for a particular person. Due to the nature of hair growth, several treatments are required per area to achieve a permanent effect. It is not advisable to undergo IPL and Electrolysis simultaneously on the same area.
